Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir is under house arrest, Sudanese media reported, adding that the armed forces are to broadcast an important statement on state television shortly.
Sources told that members of the leadership office of the ruling National Congress, led by Sudanese Prime Minister Mohamed Tahir Ayala, former First Vice President Omar al-Bashir, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, former Defense Minister Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein and more than 100 political, military and partisan personnel.
It is expected that the Sudanese Army will announce the formation of a transitional council to lead the next phase led by General Awad Ibn Awf.
