The number of cases infected with the B1617 variant virus in the United Kingdom has increased significantly, from 520 cases last week to 1,313 cases yesterday, which more than doubled. Although there is evidence that the variant virus is more transmissible than the original virus, the British authorities have stated that they will resume economic activities in the summer as originally planned.

Regarding the recent surge of the B1617 variant virus in some areas of England, the British Minister of Vaccine Deployment Zahavi said in an interview on the 14th that there is currently no evidence that this variant virus will cause more serious effects or be able to break through the defense of the vaccine.
