Denmark announced the reopening of schools this week and allows a series of indoor activities.

On Tuesday (May 4), the Danish Minister of Health Shounik said: “Denmark needs to return to normalcy as soon as possible and needs to do so responsibly.”

According to a new plan agreed between the government and most lawmakers, theaters, concert venues, cinemas and gyms can be reopened on Thursday. Older elementary school students will also be allowed to return to school completely. The maximum number of indoor public gatherings will increase from 10 to 25, with the exception of schools. In addition, the maximum number of outdoor parties has increased from 50 to 75, but the specific ceiling of 2000 participants for outdoor concerts will exclude many events, including Roskilde, one of Europe’s largest music and cultural festivals. The event stated that it will not be held this year.

Before entering many reopened facilities, people must present a “corona disease passport”, which can prove that the holder has been vaccinated against COVID-19, or has been infected before, or has received a negative result of COVID-19 test in the past 72 hours. 11.5% of Denmark’s population has been vaccinated against coronavirus.

Denmark will host four European Football Championship matches this summer and will allow up to 16,000 spectators to participate in these events.
