The United States is reviewing several other reports of other serious side effects of Johnson & Johnson’s Coronary Disease vaccination patients. The US authorities have previously announced the suspension of the use of this vaccine due to cases of cerebral thrombosis.
Reuters reported that the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Valensky said on Monday (19th): “We are very grateful that there are not many such cases, but we are still further understanding and collecting information.”
Varensky said that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reviewing reports of other side effects of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine, and she did not specify the side effects referred to in the new report.
The U.S. public health regulatory agency announced the suspension of the use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine last week after six women under the age of 50 suffered severe cerebral thrombosis after receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. So far, about 7 million people in the United States have received this vaccine.
The CDC’s advisory group will meet on Friday to review data on serious side effects and will make recommendations on whether the US should resume the use of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine.
