The White House announced that South Korean President Moon Jae-in will visit the United States in May. Moon Jae-in will be the second foreign leader to have a face-to-face meeting with Biden after Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.
Agence France-Presse reported that White House Press Secretary Psaki said on Thursday (15th): “President Biden looks forward to meeting with President Moon Jae-in at the White House in the second half of May.” She said that the two sides are still finalizing the date of the visit.
Psaki said that the Biden administration hopes to highlight the “unbreakable U.S.-South Korea alliance” through this visit.
Yoshihide Suga has left for Washington, and he will meet with Biden at the White House on Friday.
