A new study shows that more than one-third of people who have recovered from coronary disease have brain problems.
Agence France-Presse reported that the academic journal “The Lancet Psychiatry” released the research report on Tuesday (6th). Researchers have found that up to 34% of patients with covid-19 are diagnosed with neurological or psychological diseases within six months of being cured. Among them, 17% of patients were diagnosed with anxiety, and 14% of patients had mood disorders.
In addition, one in every 50 patients with coronary disease suffers from ischemic stroke, a disease that affects the brain.
The largest study to date involved the health records of 236,000 patients with coronary disease in the United States.
The researchers said that if the statistics included hospitalized cases, the proportion of patients with brain problems would rise to 39%.
