In response to the United States’ request for a return to the nuclear agreement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on Saturday (3rd) that the United States must complete all sanctions in one step, rather than “step by step.”
Reuters reported that the United States on Friday confirmed its attendance at the Vienna meeting on the Iranian nuclear agreement next week. At that time, the United States and Iran will hold indirect talks as part of the broader negotiations to activate the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.
In response to the indirect talks in Vienna, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Porter said on Friday that the talks will focus on “every step Iran must take to return to the nuclear agreement.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Khatibzad responded on Saturday that Iran opposed the gradual relaxation of sanctions.
In an interview with Iran’s English-language News Television (Press TV), Khatibzad said: “The step-by-step plan is free of discussion.” He said: “The decisive policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is that the United States lifts all sanctions.”
