A massive container ship blocking Egypt's Suez Canal for nearly a week has been partially refloated, the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) said on Monday, raising hopes the busy waterway will soon be reopened for a huge backlog of ships.
The “Long Grant” has successfully resurfaced on March 29 with the assistance of the international rescue team. The Suez Canal Transportation Bureau pointed out that the canal has resumed navigation.
This freighter has blocked the Suez Canal for nearly a week, causing hundreds of freighters to be blocked, affecting the global daily trade volume of 9 billion U.S. dollars.
