Vancouver stabbing: Several knife attacks occurred in a library in Vancouver, Canada, killing one woman and injuring five others.
The attack occurred on Saturday (March 27) afternoon. The assailant launched an attack in and near the library. A total of six people were injured and sent to the hospital.
A sergeant of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told AFP afterward that one of the wounded died and the authorities are still confirming the identities of the others.
The police stated that a suspect has been arrested and the motive for the assault is temporarily unknown.
According to a video broadcast by the local TV station CTV, the suspect stabbed himself in the leg before he was arrested, and was arrested by several police officers after he fell to the ground.
An eyewitness said in an interview with CTV that she saw a man stabbing a woman. The two did not seem to know each other, and the man was randomly wounding.
