According to a court document obtained by AFP on Saturday, Brazilian President Bolsonaro was ordered to pay 20,000 Brazilian reals to a female journalist who had been insulted by him.
According to reports, Bolsonaro in February last year alluded to the “São Paulo Pablo” journalist Melo providing sexual services to a source in exchange for negative news about him.
The Sao Paulo court ruled on the 16th of this month that Bolsonaro’s remarks damaged Melo’s reputation and caused mental damage, and demanded compensation.
During the 2018 Brazil presidential election, Melo conducted a series of investigative reports on an organization that vilified Bolsonaro’s opponents on the messaging app WhatsApp.
