A magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred in northern Japan.

Japan’s NHK TV station reported that a magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred in northern Japan on Saturday (20th) and a 1-meter-high tsunami was set off.

According to Reuters, the German Earth Science Research Center GFZ said that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred in the waters of the east coast of Honshu, Japan.

NHK TV said earlier that the 1-meter-high tsunami is expected to be approaching in the direction of Miyagi in the northeast.
